Preview: Real life daughter and mother - Soha Ali Khan and Sharmila Tagore– are together in the movie called Life Goes On. The movie is based on the psychological after-effect of partition of India on various individuals .Many Indians who left their riches in Pakistan ,suffered the partition trauma and they find it difficult to forget the incident.
The movie is about a family in U.K. The father Sanjay is from Indian origin and his wife is Manju, and he has three young daughters .One day suddenly the mother of the three daughters dies. The youngest daughter is in love with a Muslim boy and the father who tries to get close to the three daughters, find it shocking. The story starts from day one to the five days of funerals.
Sanjay remembers all his past and as he tries to get close to the daughters, he is shocked to find that the youngest Dia has a Muslim boyfriend. He gets confused and angry and he goes out in streets for a night .He remembers his past .The incidents of 7/7 and Iraq war is shown in the movie.
He is tired and watches the sun rise as he is sitting on the bench at Hampstead Heath and he forgets all the past and at the funerals he allows the Muslim boy to join the rituals in the family.
The film shows Sanjay and Dia in the contours of Shakespeare’s King Lear and cordelia.
